Meet Laura
Before establishing her private college essay business in 2006, Laura taught English at a private all-girls high school where she worked one-on-one with students on their college essays. She also taught college-level writing as an adjunct instructor, and her work as a freelance writer makes her particularly skilled at guiding students as they uncover their stories and develop their voices. Laura earned her BA in economics and English from Georgetown University and her MA in literature from American University. She has recently completed her coursework for her College Counseling Certificate with Distinction through UCLA.
In her free time, she reads everything from classic novels to beach books to her favorite newsletter, Morning Brew. She’s an avid tennis player and cook, and she never misses the Sunday NYT crossword. She loves to hike with her dog and take road trips, especially ones to visit her daughters–one a recent college grad and the other at college in Vermont. Laura and her husband live in Bala Cynwyd (not a cozy Welsh village as its name suggests), five miles outside of Philadelphia.
