Liz Price

San Francisco Bay Area

Meet Liz

Since 2014, Liz Price has been working with students from the start of the college process to the end. Liz earned her BA in mathematical economics from Pomona College, her MSW from UCLA and her College Counseling Certificate with Distinction from UCLA.

Even before counseling college-bound students, Liz’s work centered on adolescents and young adults: she worked in residence life at Caltech; served as assistant director of University of Pennsylvania’s Program for Student-Community Involvement (Civic House); and co-founded a teen center in southern California. These experiences along with her education and social work training put her in an ideal position to help with both the project management and emotional aspects of college counseling.

In addition to working with College Composed clients, Liz has been very involved in Mountain View where she’s lived since moving from southern California in 2013. She coached youth soccer for years and created the curriculum for first-generation college-bound students for Mountain View High School’s AVID program. She currently mentors first-generation students throughout their college years through MVLA Scholars.

As recent empty nesters, she and her husband look forward to any time they can spend with their two daughters, one a recent college grad and one in college, both living in New York.  Liz spends her free time reading, traveling, competitive puzzle hunting and connecting with friends — she’s always up for a round of Rummikub and always has a deck of cards at the ready!

What they say about Liz

  • Thank you so much for your unwavering support of [my son] these past two years! Because of you my nerves and our relationship were spared. 🙂
    Elizabeth B.
    USC Class of 2026 Mom
  • Thank you for everything you have done to help me with my essays and resume.  All your advice and suggestions helped me get into Villanova!  I’m very excited about what’s to come!

    Ally D.
    Villanova Class of '23
  • How can I thank YOU enough for being the perfect people for [my daughter] to work with?  You have such an amazing gift of relating to teens and bringing out the best in them.

    Jenn W.
Happy Mom of High School Senior
  • Thank you so much for everything! That was really an EPIC amount of essays that you helped with. I know she learned a lot in the process. She realized how hard it is to write about herself and I know became more comfortable with it. I believe this will help her so much in the future with job interviews and resumes etc. I can’t thank you enough for your diligence and patience. I realize how challenging your job is to keep the student on task and remain engaged and encouraging at the same time. You are a master of this!  We could not have done it without you!

    Proud Mom
    San Francisco, CA
  • Thank you so much for giving [my daughter] so much time this week!  Your comments are so valuable and spot on. And, she listens to you!

    Tracie K.
Cornell University Class of '23 Mom
  • Working with you expanded my view of what is possible for me to achieve.

    Nelly L.
    UC Davis Class of '20
  • I feel so fortunate to have someone who answers my overly stressed texts and emails, is willing to edit countless essays, and always checks up on me.

    Elaine J.
Cal State Long Beach Class of '19
  • Thank you so much for all your help and guidance — I really don’t know what I would’ve done without you helping me through the different college app processes.  You kept me on track with your well-structured spreadsheets, documents, and your constant messages.  You definitely took a lot of stress off my shoulders and made applying to colleges more manageable.  Your dedication and determined personality gave me a big push!

    Class of 2022
    San Jose State
  • Thank you so much for helping me with my applications and putting up with my awful work ethic when it comes to stuff like that.  My ability to call myself a Wildcat is at least 50% your doing, so it a victory for you as well!  I can never thank you enough!

    Class of 2022
    Northwestern University
  • With your help, I knew I would be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel through the college application process.

    Class of 2022
    Chapman University
  • I just want to say thank you.  You pushed me to write about very personal things and I’m glad you did that.  I can talk to you about anything!  You were probably more on top of my work than I was!  You were there for me — I literally cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me.

    Kaely R.
Santa Clara University - Class of '22
  • Thank you so much for your constant support.  You make me feel calmer about navigating college and staying focused through the process.

  • You are very helpful and nice, I wouldn’t have done anything without your motivation.  Not many people believe in me, so I thank you for believing in me and caring for how I am.

    Paolo P.
High School Senior - AVID Program
  • Thank you for all of your help and inspiration!  You brought organization and serenity into what, by all accounts, should have been a chaotic time.  We are truly grateful.  Our son enjoyed working with you and we enjoyed the fact that “college application season” didn’t take over our family life.  Thank you!

    Heidi H.
Northwestern University Class of '22 Mom
  • Thank  you so much for your endless support, encouragement, and reassurance.  I’m more confident and prepared for college and life because of you!
